Holy Week Schedule
April 13 (Palm Sunday)
We will follow our customary Sunday worship schedule of a single service at 10 am.
Palm Sunday is the celebration of Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem, riding on a donkey, surrounded by cheering crowds. It’s also the beginning of Holy Week, so it is also called Passion Sunday, meaning Suffering Sunday, because we begin to reflect on Jesus’ suffering.
April 17 (Holy Thursday)
Wesley Chapel, 6 pm
Holy Thursday, also known as Maundy Thursday, which comes from the word "mandate" or command. Jesus gives us the command to love one another, and also the commands to wash one another’s feet and to share in communion. This is a simple service in Wesley Chapel.
April 18 (Good Friday)
Community Good Friday Service at 12 noon, at Grace Temple COGIC. The Ministerial Association is bringing back an old tradition: the seven last words of Christ, presented by seven pastors giving seven short reflections on the last sayings of Jesus reported in the gospels. The service should be about an hour and a half.
