Why Mission Trips?
  • We want to help

  • Connecting with others helps us raise funds for them

  • It makes us better followers of Christ

Mission Trips

Why do mission trips? Because

  • we want to help
  • connecting to people far away makes us better able to raise funds for them in the future, and
  • it makes us into better followers of Christ.

In the past, we have had mission trips to various places within the United States, and to Haiti. We are continually planning these trips, and if you are interested in participating, please contact the church.

In summer 2010 we expect to have two trips, one to Haiti, and another within Michigan, that will be primarily for youth. We will continue fundraising efforts, and if you are interested in going, you need to take part in those fundraisers. The total expected cost of a trip to Haiti will be about $1500-1800 per person, and the total expected cost of the youth trip may be completely covered by fundraising.

You don't have to be part of the church to take part in a mission trip, but it's very important that you meet with the group as they prepare to go, because you need to become part of the team. A mission trip requires you to be flexible in your expectations, to be a committed team player, and to maintain a very positive attitude when things are challenging. You should also ask yourself whether you have the physical fitness needed to be helpful to the team throughout the time of the trip.
